Library Prague

The library in Prague is a highly specialized technical library serving the needs of the brewing and malting industries. The Prague library has a tradition as long as that of the research institute, which was founded under the name Research Institute for the Brewing Industry in Prague in the fall of 1887.

The professional literature on brewing and malting collected and archived by the library includes some unique sources of information that are not available elsewhere in the Czech Republic (EBC Proceedings, Proc. IBD Asia Pacific Section, some professional journals). The library also holds many historical publications in its collections (e.g., the first professional brewing journal Kvas, which began publication in 1873, and Pivovarské listy from 1901-1919). The library collection contains approximately 3,000 library units, standards, and final reports.

The library’s collections in Prague are not open to the public; the library is only available to employees of the institute.

Library code: ABC065.
