The Technical Library of the Research Institute of Brewing and Malting, PLC, is a a small library specializing in food (particularly brewing and malting) science and industry.

The library was estabilished together with the Research Institute for Brewing Industry in 1887.

The library fund contains ca. 3 000 books, journals, standards and research reports. There are included some unique historical items dating back to the 19th century, e.g. the oldest Czech brewing journal  „Kvas“ (Ferment), since the 1st volume in 1873 (published 1873 – 1950)  and „Pivovarské Listy“ (Brewing Letters) from 1901-1919 (published 1883 – 1919).

 At present the library subscribes and archives 15 foreign journals and 3 domestic journals (List List of periodicals  see .... Periodicals)

The address of the library is Lípová 15,  120 44 Prague 2,  Czech Republic.

The library is on the 2nd floor (door no. 202) in the building of RIBM called "Pivovarský dům" (Brewer´s House), which  is on the corner of Lípová Street at the junction of  Stěpánská, Ječná and Lipová streets.

It is accessible by Metro line C – station I.P.Pavlova or Metro line B – station Karlovo náměstí (Charles Square) and by trams No. 4, 6, 10, 16 and 22 – tram stop Štěpánská.

Since 1.1. 2012 the library  is not open to the public and therefore it provides any library and information services only exceptionally. ( In case of interest please send  request .)
